The Mexican muralism movement is the most important in the country and in all of the Americas. This movement was created by the Secretary of Public Education, José Vasconcelos, who brought together different Mexican artists to paint the national identity on public buildings, so that people could see our past, our wealth, and our collective identity. We will analyze each mural, exploring the contrasts, talent, and worldview of each artist. Here, it is not just about looking, but about carefully observing in order to understand the past, and thus be able to make sense of our present and the problems we continue to face today as a country.
